Through the journey of her career as a professional, Andrea has found a delicate balance between her performing career and her extensive background in teaching. She has been performing in leading roles in musicals since the age of 12, and diligently instructing individuals as well as groups since the age of 26.
Andrea's broad career extends to the live stage with 10 years of experience traveling and singing in her own band named "Crossroads". Among those years of traveling and touring she also had the chance to do several television and radio commercials. In the studio, Andrea has sung lead vocals for songwriters such as Bernie Taupin (Elton John's long time lyricist), Garth Smith and Josquin Des Pres. Her superior skill in the studio earned her the nickname "One take wonder" by her working peers. While performing with the Chris Butcher Band, she also had the opportunity to open for acts such as Steven Stills and Charlie Daniels.
After first learning she had the gift to teach others, she embarked on her career of private vocal instruction by teaching several students from the #1 nationally ranked show choirs, "Music Machine", and "Sound Unlimited" in Bonita California. Here she also taught theater, and singing workshops. Though Andrea has been in too many musicals to mention, she does relish her time spent at Alliant University and Cal State San Bernardino where she earned her degree in Musical Theater. Her many years spent training with Los Angeles' top vocal coaches has taught her invaluable information. Information shared with top radio recording artists that she now openly shares with her students. Andrea combines her many strengths and diverse background to make her an extraordinary and unique teacher. Her theoretical approach is both rock solid and comprehensive. For her, teaching singing is not just a job, it's a passion, and she fully and entirely gives of herself in regards to the service and enriching the lives of others!
